Questions

How much cash do I need to buy a franchise?

Start from the brand's total cost to open, then subtract what you plan to borrow. Lenders commonly expect the buyer to put in 10 to 30% of the total, and many franchisors also set their own liquid-cash minimum.

Does the investment range include real estate?

Usually not. The estimate covers leasehold improvements, equipment, the franchise fee and opening costs, and most brands assume you lease the site. A few list a separate figure for buying land and building.

How is the royalty worked out?

Most franchisors charge a percentage of gross sales, collected weekly or monthly. Enter the yearly sales you expect and the calculator applies the brand's royalty and marketing-fund rates.
